mark hearld & st jude's

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do here at St Jude's, and has been since we set up in 2005. It’s always seemed natural for us to work with people whose ideas and skills we admire, from printmakers to jewellers, fashion designers, illustrators, and painters.

Born in 1974, Mark Hearld studied illustration at Glasgow School of Art followed by an MA in Natural History Illustration at the Royal College of Art.

His current work is based on his observations of the natural world, influenced by mid twentieth century Neo-Romanticism and the gaiety of 1930s Modernism. He is inspired by British artists such as Eric Ravilious, John Piper and Edward Bawden.

Mark recently designed our Doveflight screen-printed fabric and is currently working on a new design. We also sell a selection of his limited edition prints at our gallery in Norfolk.
